(Washington, DC) – U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-04), a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure’s Aviation subcommittee, today released the following statement on Delta Airline’s decision to launch a direct flight between Pittsburgh International Airport and Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport. This will be the only nonstop transatlantic flight from Pittsburgh to Europe.
“In today’s global economy, businesses that want to expand or relocate look for regions that are accessible to domestic and international travelers. This new direct flight between Pittsburgh and Paris-Charles de Gaulle will be a valuable tool to attract new investments to our region and will help existing companies pursue new opportunities.
“As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, one of my top priorities next year will be advancing the designation of the I-376 corridor so that we can fully capitalize on Delta’s new investment in Pittsburgh and encourage other airlines to follow suit.”
