LEAD & MANAGE MY SCHOOL
What Now? Communicating Effectively About Prevention Data

Introduction

As a K-12 Coordinator, it is likely that you are continually collecting data to help shape your prevention initiative. Yet it is not enough to be able to collect needs assessment and evaluation data; you must also know how to move your data to action. A key to achieving this goal is developing the ability to communicate effectively about prevention-related data to school and community members. This event is designed to help K-12 Coordinators plan and deliver effective data presentations to diverse stakeholder groups.

As a participant in this event, you will have the opportunity to do the following:

  • Explore eight critical factors that should be considered when developing a data presentation plan.
  • Review the differences between sub-population, comparative, and trend data.
  • Discuss how data can be used to mobilize school and community members to address issues of concern about local youth.
  • Discover the most appropriate method(s) for communicating findings to different audiences.
  • Examine strategic decisions that will maximize your chances for achieving intended results.
