Technical Assistance for Early Reading First Grant Program Pre-Application: Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives
Archived Information

Current Section

In an effort to provide technical assistance to faith-based and community organizations, the Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives has produced a web cast that will serve as a grant writing tutorial for the Early Reading First grant program pre-application. The pre-application deadline was April 11, 2003.

The Early Reading First Program, part of President George W. Bush's "Good Start, Grow Smart" initiative, is intended to strengthen early learning environments and instruction for young children. The purpose of this grant is not to fund new early childhood learning centers, but rather to improve the academic focus of existing early childhood programs in order to prepare children for success in school.

One advantage of this grant program is that the first submission is only ten pages long. The first phase of applications will be screened; then, the most promising applicants will be invited to submit more detailed proposals.

For complete information about this grant program, please visit the Early Reading First Homepage or contact:

The web cast is best seen using a high-speed Internet connection. Perhaps you may want to go to your local library to view this presentation
