Interpretive Summary: The book ¿Environmental Best Management Practices for Aquaculture¿ provides technical guidance to improve the environmental performance of fish and shellfish farming. The book is the only comprehensive guide to mitigation of environmental impacts of aquaculture. Topics include the histiory and use of best management practices (BMPs) in agriculture and aaquaculture, BMP development and implementation, and six core chapters that contain specific specific BMPs for the most commonly used aquaculture systems for fish and shellfish. Information is also included on managing environmental interactions of fish health management and the economics of implementing environmental management practices. The book is written by 18 internationally recognized experts in aquaculture and environmental management from academia, government, and non-governmental organizations.
