Lunar Pyroclastic Volcanism Project

Top Overview Database Reports Images Figures References Meetings

This Web site features research results and data produced at the U.S. Geological Survey, Flagstaff, AZ as part of the Lunar Pyroclastic Volcanism Project, a research project funded by the NASA Planetary Geology and Geophysics Program.

In recent years, we have been using the DOD/NASA Clementine data, acquired at 5 wavelengths in the UVVIS spectral region, to study the compositions and distributions of the lunar pyroclastic deposits.  Here you can view an Overview of this project, as well as a Database of the locations and several attributes of all of the known lunar pyroclastic deposits.  Also at this site, you will find Research Reports summarizing our results, Images of these deposits, Figures, and many of the relevant References.  Finally, you'll find links to Meetings featuring this type of lunar science.
