We
live in an arid to semi-arid environment throughout the state and water is a
precious and vital resource. Water has many unique physical and chemical
properties that allow it to exist in different “states” (solid, liquid, and gas)
and to easily travel through air and soil. The State of Arizona is very diverse
in terms of climate, elevation, animal and plant life all of which means that
the water resource needs for our state can be very diverse as well. For more
basic information on how water effects our physical environment and how diverse
our state’s environment is, please see
