Primary Responsibilities/Activities:
I have been the water quality laboratory manager since 1995. Supervise and perform a broad range of chemical analyses and physical tests of a variety of samples including water, sediment, soil and vegetation from the Upper Mississippi River System. Provide technical assistance for UMESC and remote field stations scientists of the Long Term Research Monitoring Program (LTRMP). Develop and maintain water quality database and software.

Active Projects:

• The Long Term Research Monitoring Program water quality component
• Primary production in the UMRS
• Water Quality response two years after a summer drawdown on Pool 5 of the Upper Mississippi River
• Restore specific monitoring elements to the LTRMP
