Upcoming Workshop

A one day short course on AQUATOX Exit EPA Disclaimer will be presented as part of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) North America 29th Annual Meeting to be held 16–20 November 2008 at the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, Florida, USA. The workshop will be held on Sunday November 16th, 2008.

Course Details (subject to change)

Objectives

The objective is to familiarize users of diverse backgrounds with the capabilities of AQUATOX Release 3 distributed by the US EPA for use in a variety of regulatory settings. The model will be compared with a variety of other models used in risk assessment. It provides a detailed overview for those who cannot spare the time or travel expense to attend an EPA-sponsored 3-day workshop. While not hands-on, the course will provide documentation, code, example files, and setup instruction for attendees.

Description

The course is a distillation of a three-day comprehensive course offered by the US EPA. The code, example files, and lecture material for the course will be provided on CD. The course will include comparisons with other dynamic ecosystem models used for risk assessment. Examples of applications will cover the impacts of nutrients, sediments, and toxic organics on a variety of ponds, lakes, reservoirs, rivers, and an estuary.

Training Workshop Materials

The following are materials from the AQUATOX workshop presented October 24-26, 2006 in Philadelphia. The lectures and exercises are based on AQUATOX Release 2.2.

AQUATOX Application

The first file consists of an self-executable file that includes AQUATOX Release 2.2 (43 Mb), plus all of the example and data files used for the course exercises. It also includes files that help link AQUATOX to the BASINS GIS-modeling system, which is used in one exercise. The executable file automatically creates the correct directory structure, including a "Documents" subfolder, although it does not contain the supporting documents themselves (see below).

Once the download completes, find and double-click the file. The file will unzip and install on your Windows PC. Follow the instructions from the installation program. More information on specific installation files...

If you prefer, you can download just the AQUATOX program. Please note, there aren't as many example studies in this download.

Documentation

These files include all of the supporting documents, such as the course lecture materials and all AQUATOX user manuals, technical documentation, and the addenda.

You will need Adobe Reader to view some of the files on this page. See EPA's PDF page to learn more.

Individual documentation files:

If you download the complete zipped file with all documentation, unzip it to the Documents sub-folder.
