Region 5 Brownfields Program (as of September 2006) serves its communities through 397 Cooperative Agreements, including:
- 238 Assessment Grants
- 12 Job Training Grants
- 47 Revolving Loan Fund Grants
- 79 Cleanup Grants
- 3 Showcase Communities
- 6 States Grants
- 15 Tribal Agreements
Approximately $41 million has been awarded to Region 5 states and tribes for State Response Programs. Region 5 states have completed 433 Brownfields Assessments and all six States have Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs).
Approximately $191 million has been awarded to Region 5 Brownfield competitive grantees.
Number of acres made ready for reuse: 5,064
Brownfield funding resulted in 4,280 redevelopment cleanup/construction jobs being leveraged. Through this fiscal year nearly $1.9 billion in redevelopment dollars have been leveraged as a result of federal, state, and local partnerships.
