Welcome to Agroecosystem Management Research Unit

 

Background

 

The Agroecosystem Management Research Unit (AMRU) is one of about 300 research units in the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), the principal research agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Mandate

 

Conduct research, develop innovative technologies, and disseminate information to address society needs. 

Vision

 

Sustainable crop and livestock production systems.

Mission

 

Develop sustainable integrated cropping systems and livestock management technologies and disseminate useful information and technologies to customers.

Strategy

 

Identifying priority research, with clientele input, to address livestock associated insect, pathogen, and odor issues; to improve management of natural and renewable resources; and to make agriculture more sustainable.
