Wetland Resource Attribution and Verification Tools and Forms

General Information

Effective April 7, 2004, Version 2.5.1 of the customized attribution and verification tools for resource mapping using geodatabases in ArcMAP is available for download. These tools have been developed in a cooperative effort between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Geological Survey. Users are encouraged to download and thoroughly review the updated documentation and instructions that accompany the verification tools. As a mechanism to foster feedback from users, a software modification form is included with the printed information. Version 2.5.1 of the Attribution and Verification Tools have been tested and are compatible with ArcGIS version 9.1 and 9.2

The new version of the tools has been developed to improve speed and to better process large geodatabases. In particular, Version 2.5.1 significantly increases the speed of finding invalid wetlands attributes. Additionally, Version 2.5.1 better supports editing large geodatabases by periodically saving the pending edits stored in the ArcMap edit cache.

The table of accepted wetland codes in the Wetlands Geodatabase is updated often. To get the table of updated codes, please download the verification tool update located under the Get the Attribution and Verification Tools link above.

NOTE: The Attribution and Verification tools populate and query the standard NWI field named "Attribute", which is a text data type and has the length of 20. This field must be in the geodatabase for the tools to work.
