Technical Review (Objective 2): The technical review was
completed prior to the Memorandum of Understanding being signed. The Plan of Action was
agreed upon in Late, 1999. The National Internet Gateway at the Telecommunications Service of Eritrea (TSE) was installed on 31 January, 2000.
Multiple private sector Internet Service Providers will get affordable leased-lines from the TSE. High-speed Internet access would be extended to four secondary cities (Massawa, Keren, Dekemhare, and Mendefera)
through TSE's digital microwave network and two additional cities (Barentu and Assab) via VSAT. |
