Site Documents

A variety of documents are written during the assessment and cleanup of sites addressed under the Superfund program. Below are descriptions of document types and searches currently available in our online repository. You can search across sets of documents by using the corresponding links (e.g., if you want to search across all Records of Decision (RODs) that are available online, use the Record of Decision System (RODS)), or search for all of the available documents for a specific site, using the Superfund Site Information.

Records Of Decision

The Record of Decision System (RODS) contains full-text Records of Decision (RODs), ROD Abstracts, ROD Amendments and Explanations of Significant Differences (ESDs). A ROD provides the justification for the remedial action (treatment) chosen at a Superfund site. It also contains site history, site description, site characteristics, community participation, enforcement activities, past and present activities, contaminated media, the contaminants present, scope and role of response action and the remedy selected for cleanup.

Five-Year Reviews Online

Five-Year Reviews Online contains the full-text of reports prepared by EPA evaluating the implementation and performance of site remedies to determine if they remain protective of human health and the environment.

Site Assessment Documentation

The Site Assessment Documentation pilot system is no longer available. For site specific-information, including available documents, perform a search in the Superfund Site Information. On the search results page, click the site name and then click the Additional Site Documents link or the Site-Specific Documents link.

Superfund Site Information

To view all the above document types for a particular site, as well as Site Narratives at Listing, NPL Fact Sheets, Interagency Agreements (IAGs), Notices of Intent for Deletion, Deletion Federal Register (FR) Notices, Notices of Intent for Partial Deletion, Partial Deletion FR Notices and Partial Deletion Narratives, perform a search for the site in the Superfund Site Information. On the search results page, click the site name and then click the Additional Site Documents link or the Site-Specific Documents link.
