Research Project: EXAMINING THE EFFECTS OF PROCESSING PARAMETERS ON PHYSICAL AND FLOW PROPERTIES OF DDGS

Location: Brookings, South Dakota

Project Number: 5447-41000-002-08
Project Type: Nonfunded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jan 01, 2008
End Date: Dec 31, 2009

Objective:
The objective of this research to to conduct chemical, physical, and flowability property analysis on DDGS samples and develop appropriate calibrations for NIR analysis.

Approach:
The National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center (NCERC) will provide 120 DDGS samples to the USDA-ARS for analysis. These samples have been produced by varying specific ethanol processing parameters. The NCERC will quantify chemical compositions for each of the DDGS samples. The USDA-ARS will quantify the physical and flowability properties of these samples.
