New Operations Assistant Joins the Western Coastal and Marine Geology Team
Kathleen Donahue joined the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Western Coastal and Marine Geology team in March as the team's new Operations Assistant at the USGS Pacific Science Center in Santa Cruz, CA. Kathleen comes to the team with more than 10 years of experience in research and administrative support in the local marine-sciences community. Her most recent position was as the PISCO (Partnership for Interdisciplinary Studies of Coastal Oceans) Project Coordinator at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) Marine Science Campus, where she was responsible for laboratory and field logistics, permits, travel, purchasing, and budget management and also organized several conferences and workshops. Previously, Kathleen worked at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) as the project coordinator for construction of the research vessel Western Flyer. Her B.A. is from UCSC, where she majored in theater arts and film. Kathleen is excited to become part of WCMG and looks forward to meeting and working with team members.
