State Safety Data Improvement Programs

Below you will find examples of programs that underwent a peer review process and were honored at the Traffic Records Forum or another event hosted by a traffic records-related organization.  To view further details on these projects as well as others, visit the data improvement pages of 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, and 2001.  For further information on submitting a exemplary data improvement project for inclusion on this page and in the Traffic Safety Information Systems newsletter, please visit the Newsletter website.

These projects are meant to improve communications among states and shows examples of how others are meeting their traffic safety data needs.  These data improvement projects are not necessarily endorsed by the NHTSA but are provided for your research and evaluation.
