Data Systems
The Air Facility Sub-system (AFS) is a sub-system of Aerometric Information Retrieval System (AIRS). AFS contains compliance data on air pollution point sources regulated by the U.S. EPA and/or state and local air regulatory agencies. Documents related to the data system are available here.
The Permit Compliance System (PCS)is a national information system that contains data which supports the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System(NPDES) program. Documents related to the data system are available here.
Planning
Priorities - A summary of the FY 2005/2007 national enforcement and compliance assurance program priorities is provided. Short-Term Planning -The enforcement and compliance assurance program has a variety of documents which set program direction over a two to three year time period. These documents translate the longer term strategic plan into more immediate work plan efforts. The primary guidance document that the enforcement and compliance assurance program uses for this purpose is the National Program Managers Guidance.
Long-Term Planning - This sub-topic includes documents which have a longer term horizon (generally a 3-5 year time period) and includes the enforcement and compliance component of the EPA Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan presents a broader discussion of program goals and objectives.
Reporting and Results
The accomplishments of the enforcement and compliance assurance programs are reported in a variety of documents listed below.
OECA Accomplishments
The enforcement and compliance assurance program Accomplishment Report documents compliance activity and achievements during the fiscal year. The report provides a summary discussion of national results by category of activity, and highlights specific cases, pilot projects or trend data through narrative and graphs.
Annual Results
At the end of each fiscal year, EPA announces the results of compliance assurance and enforcement activities. Annual results of the compliance and enforcement program and highlights of specific accomplishments are available below. Federal Facilities Accomplishments
Federal facilities, like all other regulated facilities, are responsible for complying with environmental requirements. Each year EPA writes a Federal Facilities Enforcement & Accomplishments Report, which discusses the goals and accomplishments for that particular year.
National Public Water Systems Compliance Report
Each year EPA reports about drinking water violations at American's public water system (PWS). Each report summarizes the annual report prepared by each State about drinking water violations at PWSs within its jurisdiction. Each report also discusses the violations at public water systems on Indian reservations; EPA's enforcement and compliance assistance activities with respect to Tribal PWSs; and the financial assistance EPA has provided to facilitate the provision of safe drinking water to Tribes.
State of Federal Facilities Reports
The State of Federal Facilities Reports gives an overview of compliance rates for Federal facilities and the various compliance and enforcement issues and problems facing Federal facilities.
