Objective:
1) Quantify the effect of tillage on water and air quality and carbon sequestration in the United States; 2) Link effects of changing tillage to REAP and CEAP efforts in USDA and potential impacts of land management practices on environmental quality.

Approach:
Evaluation of the tillage database for trends and distribution across the United States and linkage of tillage trends to current efforts on CEAP and REAP to understand the dynamics of tillage systems. Evaluation of potential conservation tillage practices on the emission of particulate matter to the atmosphere.
