Research Interests:Dr. Feyereisen serves as a team member on the research project “Optimizing nutrient management to sustain agricultural ecosystems and protect water quality.”.Trained in the soil and water emphasis of the agricultural / biological engineering discipline, he conducts research that examines surface and subsurface nutrient transport at the field and watershed scales. Current projects aimed at reducing nutrient losses from agriculture involve:
- Dissolved phosphorus transport in Coastal Plains soils
- Water table management in agricultural drainage ditches
- Manure management and winter conditions
- Filtration of nutrients from agricultural sources
- Modeling of cover crops
