Pristina, February 17. Law students who have completed a special international business law course will be awarded certificates in a ceremony on February 18, 10:00, at the University of Prishtina Law Faculty. The course, co-taught by a Kosovo law professor and visiting American lawyer, was coordinated by BearingPoint International as part of a commercial law program supported by the US Government through the US Agency for International Development.
Certificates will be presented by the dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Beqir Sadikaj and USAID mission director, Dale B. Pfeiffer following their remarks. Twenty-five students completed the one-semester course, a practical course covering new commercial law regulations and commercial transactions such as sales and contracting, international sale principles, commercial papers, business organization, bankruptcy, pledge and mortgage, and the tax system. "Contemporary International Business Transaction" will be taught next semester by the Kosovar professor, with assistance from the visiting American lawyer.

USAID is providing technical assistance in Kosovo supporting market-driven commercial law reforms. An aspect of this assistance is ensuring that law students in Kosovo acquire an understanding of the basis and substance of the new market-oriented reforms of the commercial and economic legal framework in Kosovo. The ceremony will be held in Room D of the Faculty of Law on the fourth floor of the Economics Building . It will last approximately one hour.
