Isis ISIS Overview

----

Purpose:

ISIS provides a comprehensive, user-friendly, portable tool for processing, analyzing, and displaying remotely sensed image data. ISIS primarily handles 2-D image data (as single-band cubes) and 3-D data (as multispectral or hyperspectral cubes) from imagers and spectrometers.

Capabilities:

Processing:
Data ingestion, cosmetic processing, radiometric correction, geometric rectification, photometric correction, image mosaicking, map assembly

Analysis:
Filter, stretch, ratio, statistics, math, spectral extraction and plotting, spectral library function

Display:
Display of 2-D images and 3-D cubes, contrast enhancement, density slicing, Region-of-Interest statistics and plotting, interactive editing, blinking

Supported Missions:
Cassini, Clementine, Galileo NIMS, Galileo SSI, Imager for Mars Pathfinder (IMP) Lunar Orbiter, Mariner, Mars Exploration Rover (MER) Mars Express, Mars Global Surveyor (MGS/MOC) THEMIS (M01) Viking, Voyager

Intended Users:
NASA Planetary Geology Science Community
NASA Flight Mission participants
NASA Data Analysis Program participants
USGS Astrogeology Program cartographers and planetary scientists

Supported Computer Platforms:
Sun - Solaris
PC - Linux
MacOSX
