ORD works to help the Agency achieve its goal of Land Preservation through research directed to improve the scientific basis for management of material streams and for land revitalization decisions. NERL's research program is focused on development of analysis techniques and modeling tools necessary to evaluate comprehensively the aggregated risks associated with multiple exposure pathways. NERL researches: (1) beneficial re-use of waste materials; (2) multimedia and multi-pathway models to predict exposures; (3) exposure pathways of nanomaterials; and (4) exposures from biofuels use and disposal.
