Navajo National Monument preserves three intact cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Puebloan people. A visitor center, museum, three short self-guided trails, two small campgrounds, and a picnic area provide service to travelers that make the trek to this remote hamlet.

Climate

Warm (85 degrees F.), dry summers with occasional late summer thunderstorms. Cold (35 degrees F.), usually snowy winters. Windy in the springtime.

John Wetherill, younger brother of Richard Wetherill, was the custodian for the Monument from 1909 to 1938. He guided tours from his trading post in Kayenta, Arizona.
