Partner Profile HSBC North America is one of the top financial services companies in the United States. HSBC originally joined the Green Power Partnership in 2005 when the company purchased enough renewable energy certificates (RECs) to cover 23 percent of its annual electricity consumption. Since then, HSBC has increased its green power purchasing to more than 90 percent of its total electricity usage and continues to be a member of the Green Power Leadership Club. The Environmental Protection Agency recognized HSBC as a Partner of the Year in 2005 and 2006. HSBC North America's green power purchase helps the company achieve its goal of "carbon neutrality."
