The Guide to Purchasing Green Power (PDF) (50 pp, 1.1MB) provides current and potential buyers of green power with information about green power purchasing. The Guide includes information about the different types of green power products, the benefits of green power purchasing, and how to capture the greatest benefit from your purchase. The Guide is the product of a cooperative effort between the EPA, the U.S. Department of Energy, the World Resources Institute, and the Center for Resource Solutions.
The Green
Power Partnership Program Brochure (PDF) (4
pp, 311K). This document provides basic information about the Green
Power Partnership. The brochure includes information about purchase
requirements, the benefits of green power purchasing, and examples of how
Partners are strategically using green power to meet their environmental and greenhouse gas reduction goals.
The Partnership
Agreement (PDF) (2 pp, 143K) is
a simple two-page document that organizations must download,
print, complete, sign, and fax to EPA to join the Partnership. Partners
need to provide company information—including
a primary and communications contact information—as well as basic
information about their green power purchase. Partners have up
to one year to complete a purchase after submitting the Partnership
Agreement.

Requirements (PDF) (18
pp, 459K) document provides detailed information about the Green
Power Partnership’s program requirements, including organization,
resource, and product eligibility; minimum purchase requirements;
new renewables requirements; vintage requirements; participation definitions;
and reporting requirements.
The Partner
Yearly Report (MS Word) (2
pp, 75K) is a document that Partners can use to update their purchase
information. Partner organizations will receive a Partner Yearly Report
from their assigned account manager on the anniversary of their Partnership
or the anniversary date of their last purchase data update, whichever is
most recent. The report will include the purchase information on record—Partners
need only confirm or update the information.

Mark Use Guidelines (PDF) (2
pp, 184K) outline how Green Power Partners should use the Partner
mark in promoting their Partnership with EPA. (In all cases, please notify
EPA when using the Partner mark.)
The Renewable Energy Certificates (PDF) (6 pp, 996K) white paper provides a brief overview of renewable energy certificates (RECs): what they are, how they work, and why they are an important option for individual and organizational buyers in renewable electricity and green power markets.
The Partner Mark is available to EPA Green Power Partners. Partners must ensure that the Partner mark is used within the requirements outlined in the Partner Mark Use Guidelines (PDF) (2 pp, 184K). (In all cases, please notify EPA when using the Partner mark.)
Green Power Community Documents
The EPA Green Power Community Road Signs: Use & Reproduction Guidelines (PDF) (2 pp, 380K) provides guidance on the correct use and display of EPA Green Power Community road signs. This document also includes sign reproduction guidelines, should a community wish to reproduce signs for additional display within the boundaries of the municipality.
The Green Power Community Partnership Agreement (PDF) (3 pp, 158K) is a simple two-page document that local governments must download, print, complete, sign, and fax to EPA on behalf of the community they represent to join the Partnership. Local governments will need to provide community information, including a local government primary contact and communications contact, as well as basic information about the community’s green power purchase. Green Power Communities have up to one year to complete a purchase that meets or exceeds EPA purchase requirements after submitting the Partnership Agreement.
The Green Power Community Yearly Report (MS Word) (2 pp, 61K) is a document that Green Power Communities can use to update their purchase information. Your community will receive a Green Power Community Yearly Report from your assigned account manager on the anniversary of your Partnership or the anniversary date of your last purchase data update, whichever is most recent. The report will include the purchase information on record—your community need only confirm or update the information.

Becoming a GPC Presentation (PDF) (12 pp, 295K) is a presentation that outlines the benefits, basic requirements, and steps involved in becoming an EPA Green Power Community. This presentation can be used to help gain support from key decision makers.
