Additional FFP Conference Information

On June 27-28, 2002, we are scheduling Post Conference FFP Training Sessions with instructors in the Ronald Reagan Building from the 25 topics listed below. If you would like to participate in the Training Sessions, please contact Curt Nissly at cnissly@usaid.gov or Maileen Villamor at mvillamor@amexdc.com. Please list the topics from 1-10 in the order of importance (1=most important and 10=least important) for you. Based on the results of this Survey, we will schedule Training Sessions. Topics 1-22 will also be made available for self-instruction. The estimated time and description of each is indicated.

  1. Basic Food Aid Agreements - includes agreement requirements, sample documents, and quiz (30 min)
  2. P.L. 480 - includes overview of Farm Bill and quiz (1 hr)
  3. Food Aid and Food Security Policy - presents key concepts; includes case study and quiz (3 hrs)
  4. ITSH Guidelines - includes background reading and quiz (1 hr)
  5. Annual Estimate of Requirements (AER) - includes case study, explanation of AER line items and quiz (2 hrs)
  6. USAID Regulation 11 - presents key concepts and includes background reading and quiz (2 hrs)
  7. Food Security Indicators for FFP DP - presents Food Security Indicators - FANTA and background reading: Title II generic indicators (6 hrs)
  8. Environmental Compliance - includes overview of 22 CFR 216 legislation and quiz (3 hrs)
  9. Commodity Reference Guide - provides briefing, background reading, and quiz (30 min)
  10. Monetization - provides introduction, background reading, quiz, and case study (3 hrs)
  11. Commodity Pipeline Analysis - provides steps of analysis and case example (2 hrs)
  12. Emergency Presentation - presents overview of Emergency Programs Division and WFP guidelines (1 hr)
  13. Food Aid Audit Requirements - presents overview, sample documents, background reading: compliance supplement, and quiz (1 hr)
  14. Section 202(e) Grants - presents overview, background information, and quiz (1 hr)
  15. Bellmon Analysis and UMR Requirements - presents overview of requirements, background reading on UMRs, and quiz (3 hrs)
  16. Needs Assessment Methodologies and M&E Concepts - provides information requirements for food security information systems; M&E concepts; and quiz (5 hrs)
  17. Food Aid Management Checklist - explains the purpose and criteria for promoting further delegation for Title II approval authority and management to USAID Missions and for Mission Management Capacity Checklist; reviews the format and context of Redelegation MOUs (2 hrs)
  18. Call Forward Shipping Instructions - provides basic requirements, sample call forward and shipping instructions, background reading, and quiz (1 hr)
  19. Transfer Authorization - explains major features of the revised TA documents (3 hrs)
  20. Emergency Needs Assessment Methodologies - presents overview of food security assessments in emergencies; WFP/UNHCR Guidelines for Estimating Food and Nutritional Needs in Emergencies, and quiz (2 hrs)
  21. Title II Program Close-Out - presents overview, background reading, and quiz (2 hrs)
  22. Emergency Results Reporting - provides background of SO1, FFP/EP Performance Review Questionnaire, and FFP/EP Results Report FY2000 (2 hrs)
  23. HIV/AIDS Programming: the Development and the Emergency Context - discusses USAID's HIV/AIDS policy (1 hr)
  24. USAID's Managing FFP Assistance Instruments (CTO Training) - similar to CTO training; includes do's-and-don'ts of field management (2 hrs)
  25. FANTA Food Security Indicators/Evaluations - includes framework for use and M&E of food aid programs, performance indicators, and measurement guides (2 hrs)
