Scott Armey was appointed Regional Administrator of GSA's Greater Southwest Region by President Bush on June 5, 2002. As the principal executive in the Greater Southwest Region, Armey leads a workforce of 1,250 associates and directs operations in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The Greater Southwest Region has an annual operating budget of $500 million and a real estate portfolio that includes 385 government-owned buildings and leased space in 757 commercial buildings.

From 2000 to 2002, Armey served as a Denton County judge where he was the presiding officer of the commissioners court and chief executive officer of the county government. In this capacity, he drafted and administered a $100 million county budget, oversaw more than 1,300 county employees, and coordinated economic development initiatives.   

From 1992 to 2000, he served as Denton County commissioner in precinct three (3) where his primary objectives were stimulating economic development, attracting new business into Denton County, and expanding the county’s commercial tax base.  

Scott Armey graduated from the University of North Texas in 1990 with a degree in business administration. He resides in Denton, Texas with his wife and children.
