Washingtonian Magazine Names Costa Among DC's Most Powerful PeopleGSA #10415 October 23, 2007 Melissa Williams, (202) 501-1231 WASHINGTON, DC – Washingtonian Magazine’s 150 most influential people in business, culture, real estate, religion, education and law for 2007 includes Anthony Costa, a senior executive at the U.S. General Services Administration. Mr. Costa, Deputy Commissioner for GSA’s Public Buildings Service, was recently featured in Washingtonian Magazine in its October 2007 edition as one of Washington’s hidden powers—people you should know. "Tony is a well-respected leader in both GSA and in the Washington real estate community," said David L. Winstead, Commissioner of GSA’s Public Buildings Service. "This recognition is well deserved." The October 2007 cover story, "Super Power," identified top influential men and women from a survey of 2,100 key figures with various backgrounds including business, culture, real estate, religion, education, and law. The article spotlights the major D.C. development projects Mr. Costa has been involved with during his 20 year tenure with GSA as PBS Deputy Commissioner and previously as the Assistant Regional Administrator for Public Buildings in the Nation’s Capital. Projects highlighted include the Anacostia Waterfront Initiative, Southeast Federal Center and the former General Post Office. He is a native of Trenton, N.J. and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Economics from Bucknell University and a Masters Degree in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
