GSA Reports Telework Best PracticesGSA #9901 October 23, 2001
"While experts recommend tailoring programs to individual organizations, they also suggest that, if possible, program developers follow such essential practices such as top-level support and coordination, training, clear and measurable program goals, performance appraisal fairness and technological support," said the report's author, Wendell Joice, GSA's Governmentwide Telework Team Leader and a co-founder of the Federal telework program. Federal telework programs, which have evolved over the past 10 years, enable employees to work regularly at home and at other alternate worksites that reduce commuting time or distance. Mr. Joice wrote the report in conjunction with an International Telework Association & Council blue ribbon panel and 62 experts from government and industry. It is available under the Publications heading at http://www.gsa.gov/telework. Index of News Releases
