Mineral Resources

The Southwest Field Office of the USGS Western Mineral Resources is a multi-disciplinary team of geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, GIS and remote sensing specialists working together to assess the mineral resources and mineral related environmental problems of the southwestern United States as well as throughout the nation. The team focuses its work on several thematic tasks, including: minerals, the environment, and public health; sustainability and societal need; the economy and public policy; and priority activities supporting all Mineral Resource Program studies.
