The Federal Corrections Complex at Victorville, California opened in 2000 and now comprises three modern factories and a 57,000 square foot warehouse. Each of the three factories has 50,000 square feet of space dedicated to rebuilding military vehicles and vehicle components for the DOD and Federal Agencies. Factory and warehouse logistics are integrated with a Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system.

FCC Victorville factories were designed as a single bay with exhausts, air lines, power and LAN throughout to provide ample space and maximum flexibility for efficient vehicle production lines. The factories also feature:

  • Large doorways to admit vehicles as large as semitrailers
  • High ceilings to allow installation and operation of masts on rebuilt forklifts
  • Specialty shops and booths for sanding, sandblasting, Painting, graphics, hydraulics, power washing, welding and machine shop capabilities
  • HAZMAT handling and storage areas
  • Secure storage yard for large-scale storage of vehicles
  • Off road vehicle testing
  • Exercising and load certifying of industrial lift-trucks
  • Adjacent business offices to handle logistics and administrative support

Rebuild a Few Components or the Entire Vehicle

FCC Victorville specializes in the repair and rebuild of vehicles and vehicular components for fork lifts, HMMWVs, semi-trailer and air conditioning skids.

  • Fork Lifts: complete rebuild under SLEP Service Life Extension Program. Fork Lifts rebuilt include Yale, Hyster, Case, Drexel,Wiggins, Liftking, Caterpillar, Int. Harvester covering:
  • diesel, gasoline, propane and electric
  • booms, tool carriers and cargo container handlers
  • 2WD, 4WD and shipboard; lift capacities from 1,500 to 20,000 pounds
  • HMMWV: complete tear down and rebuild of all models, including:
  • Shelter Carrier, Ambulance, Troop Carrier and Truck
  • Rebuilt Vehicle Components, including:
  • differentials, brakes, radiators, automatic transmissions, transfer cases, power steering pumps, steering gearboxes
  • Semi-trailer rebuilding, including: replacement of deck, frame repair, rewiring, and repainting
  • Air conditioning skids: strip, repair, and repaint

Specialty Shops to Meet Every Need

Each specialty shop at FCC Victorville is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including:

  • A computer system for the production of stencils and data plates
  • The radiator shop with leak test equipment, cleaning tanks and flow test equipment
  • A new, 150-hp dynamometer to test transmissions under load. The dynamometer features a computer interface for cycle testing electronic transmissions.
  • A large power wash machine to clean large components (such as transmissions) before disassembly
  • Overhead hoists to remove and install heavy components including cabs, axles, engines, transmission and masts
  • A vehicle lift that allows exhaustive inspection for leaks after road tests

The Right Training to get the Job Done Right

FCC Victorville has 300 active, experienced technicians at each factory and warehouse.We are currently training additional management and supervisory staff, with projected total employment of 800-all available from the FCC population.The transfer of existing product lines and technicians ensures the additional plants open with proven workers and procedures. FCC Victorville offers factory classrooms and ASE certification programs to ensure qualified technicians.

CERTIFICATIONS

FCC Victorville is certified by state and district regulatory agencies and uses certified vendors for waste disposal. A member of the American Society of Engine Rebuilders (ASCER), FCC Victorville provides our technicians with Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification programs for electronics, hydraulics, brakes, suspensions and transmissions. Victorville is ISO-9001:2000 Certified.
