Current Status

  • As of 1500UTC, 06Jan2009, GOES-12 replaced GOES-13 as the operational GOES-East satellite. Realtime production at CIMSS appears to have transitioned reasonably from approximately 16UTC - 18UTC. (JPN, jim.nelson@ssec.wisc.edu) See here for Office of Satellite Operations Special Bulletins

Recent Changes

  • 22-Dec-2008, 20Z: Disabled all access to the (now obsolete) ADDE group CIMSSPE. (JPN, jim.nelson@ssec.wisc.edu)

This website contains various GOES derived product images (DPI) as well as composite displays made routinely at CIMSS, usually every hour, using current GOES multi-spectral sounding and imager data.

Realtime radiances and derived products

For those using McIDAS to gain ADDE access to the satellite data used in these displays, use one of the following CIMSSP* ADDE groups: CIMSSP1, CIMSSP2 or CIMSSP3. Please see http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/goes/rt/all_cimss_adde_datasets
