Degrees:
- B.S. in Biology (Entomology), Shanghai Normal University, China, 1982
- Ph.D. in Chemical Ecology/Animal Ecology/Ecotoxicology, Lund University, Sweden, 1995
Research Interests:
Semiochemical-based integrated pest management in agriculture, livestock industry and urban settings.
Major Project Activities:
My research currently focuses on developing sustainable integrated livestock pest management technologies and disseminating useful information and technologies to customers/stakeholders. This research is one of components of ARS National Program 104 (Arthropod Pests of Animals and Humans) that involves basic and applied studies to solve high priority problems related to the loss of livestock productivity attributed to problems with food safety and manure-borne pathogen transmittal by insects. Another part of my research includes exploring novel biorational methods to control blood-sucking insects in dairy, agricultural and urban settings.
