Dennis R. Berkebile

Research Entomologist

Degrees:

  • B.S. (Biology) University of Missouri, Kansas City 1975
  • B.S. (Agriculture) University of Missouri, Columbia 1978
  • M.S. (Entomology) University of Missouri, Columbia 1981
  • Ph.D. (Entomology) University of Nebraska, Lincoln, 1995

Research Interests:

Stable fly management strategies, fly biology, habitat ecology and population dynamics

Major Project Activities:

My current projects involve the characterization of immature stable fly developmental sites.   This work has targeted winter feeding sites of pasture cattle, specifically hay bales.  Substantial effort has been focused on determining the importance of hay bale feeding sites relative to the establishment of spring populations.
