LP DAAC announces the release of the MODIS Burned Area Product

LP DAAC released the MODIS Burned Area product on October 1, 2008. This product is based on both the Terra and Aqua MODIS inputs, and provides the approximate date of burning and spatial extent of recent fires based on three months of daily surface reflectance data.
