EDG to WIST Registered User Migration

Beginning June 25, 2008, LP DAAC will begin the migration process to a new interface, the Warehouse Inventory Search Tool (WIST). To migrate your user information between systems, start by logging in to your “registered user account” on the EDG. The EDG will direct you to a migration tool and pass your information to the new system. You will be prompted for a new password and have the option of making further changes to your account.

The WIST interface is very similar to EDG, with some enhancements, including an orthographic spatial search map and a new order options screen. User profile changes include the addition of “user type” and “email notification level.” The migration tool will prompt you for a user type, and we recommend using the default of “public_user.” LP DAAC users should set the e-mail notification level to “info.” This level will include e-mails about the order you placed, the cost of your order(s) (if applicable), system problems fulfilling the order (only if problems arise), and information for retrieving your data (for FTPPush, FTPPull orders). WIST provides definitions of the available email notification levels and user types from the “Order Form” page.

LP DAAC EOS data holdings are anticipated to remain active on EDG for 10 weeks during the user migration process. The target date to begin using WIST as a replacement for the EDG is September 3, 2008. We recommend that you begin using WIST as soon as you migrate.
