"My old friends cal me 'Monoh Pikah,' which means 'person without legs.' Before my accident
no one called me this. I can't stop people from saying it, but I don't like it.
My accident has changed the way I think. I no longer feel comfortable talking with people who have legs;
I don't like to mix with them. I used to be invited to eat with my friends, but they no longer invite me. When I had
legs my friends could rely on me to help them with their work; now they disregard me."
