Research Project: EVALUATION OF SITE-SPECIFIC AND CONSERVATION MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGIES FOR CROP PRODUCTION

Location: Application and Production Technology Research Unit

Project Number: 6402-12130-002-04
Project Type: Nonfunded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Mar 25, 2005
End Date: Dec 31, 2009

Objective:
Evaluate improved crop production systems that optimize crop yield and quality; improve water quality; fertilizer and pesticide management; and reduce within-field variability by incorporating precision technologies along with advances in irrigation scheduling. Implement improved cropping systems in a production seeting and test economic impact.

Approach:
Advances in management inputs and the economic impact of various production practices will be evaluated in a production setting. Various site-specific and conservation management technologies in production-size, randomized plot studies will be investigated.
