The Next Step in the RWIS Evolution: The Virtual Station

Abstract:

This paper discuss the evolution of RWIS and thermal mapping, as well as a new technique called the virtual station. The chief component of each virtual station is a program that accesses the measurement data of adjacent weather stations and contains or accesses parameters specific to the site of the respective measuring station.
