Together, Metafore and its partners collaborate on innovative market-based approaches that support thriving forests and communities. A non-profit organization, Metafore provides wide-ranging expertise in responsible forest products, objective advice blending business needs and environmental concerns, and leadership in new ways to approach old problems.
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is a global non-profit organization committed to conservation of nature, with national organizations or representatives in 50 countries and conservation projects in approximately 100 countries. WWF has a long history of collaboration with USAID and its missions in global conservation efforts WWF has a long history of collaboration with USAID and its missions in global conservation efforts and work to protect forests. WWF established the Global Forest & Trade Network (GFTN), which has pioneered the trade of forest products from certified, well-managed forests. This collaboration will contribute to WWFs global target of 100 million hectares of credibly certified forests producing timber and/or non timber forest products, and 50 million hectares progressing towards credible certification by 2007.
