Research Project:
DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF BIOMETRICAL GENETICS MODELS TO COTTON GENETICS AND PLANT BREEDING
Location: Genetics and Precision Agriculture Research
Project Number: 6406-21000-012-25
Project Type:
Specific Cooperative Agreement
Start Date: Mar 14, 2005
End Date: Nov 30, 2009
Objective:
The objective of this cooperative research project is to develop and apply marker assisted selection and new biometrical genetic models and data analyses software in cotton genetics and breeding research.
Approach:
Skills, knowledge, ability, and experience in development of marker assisted selection and biometrical and statistics genetics will be used to develop and/or apply genetics models to the planning, conduct, and analyses of genetics, plant breeding, and molecular genetics experiments in cotton. When new genetic models are developed, computer software programs will be written for data analysis using the new models.
