Assistant Inspector General for Management
Paula Hayes
Paula F. Hayes was selected as the Assistant Inspector General for Management (AIG/M) in the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Agency for International Development on August 8, 2004.
She began her Federal career in 1977, and has since worked in six Federal agencies. Prior to her appointment, she served as both the AIG for Strategic Planning and Specific Projects and the AIG for Policy Development and Resources Management at the Department of Agriculture Office of Inspector General (USDA/OIG).
She joined the USDA/ OIG in 1982 and prior to her appointment as AIG, served as an Audit Division Director and as Director of Evaluation.
Mrs. Hayes was with the Department of Justice (DOJ) from 1978 to 1982 in a variety of positions related to criminal justice. During her appointment at DOJ, she served as the Deputy Inspector General of the Community Services
Administration (on a detail from the Criminal Division of DOJ) during the closeout of that agency. Prior to joining the Federal Government, Mrs. Hayes worked for the City Government of Syracuse, New York as the Assistant Criminal Justice Grants Manager.
Mrs. Hayes holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences/Economics from Rhode Island College and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from The Maxwell School of Public Administration of Syracuse University and is active in professional organizations related to her responsibilities.
