Flooding Samples


In May and June 2002 torrential rain and localized flooding killed about 800 people and damaged crops and infrastructure along the shores of China's Dongting Lake. Dongting Lake is China's second largest lake and has long been the scene of chronic flooding. It connects to the flood-prone Yangtze River.
