Objective:
To perform a systematic statistical analysis of the effects of fish meal replacements on growth rates and feed efficiencies for salmonids with a view to determining why such strategies have failed to produce a sustainable approach to fish farming operations.

Approach:
Experimental observations from reliable studies (experimentally sound and highly credible) will be organized and processed using nutritional models and these "structured" experimental observations and model simulations will be statistically compared (within and across studies) through a meta-analysis approach. Meta-analysis is a statistical approach to determine the reliability of nutritional guidelines and the estimate of the nutritive value of ingredients.
