Student Achievement and School Accountability Programs
- The Early Childhood Educator Professional Development Program: The Early Childhood Educator Professional Development Program is designed to enhance the school readiness of young children, particularly disadvantaged youth children by providing funds to improve the knowledge and skills of early childhood educators who work in communities with high concentrations of children living in poverty.
- Early Reading First (Title I, Part B, Subpart 2): The Early Reading First Program is a discretionary grant program designed to prepare young children to enter kindergarten with the necessary language, cognitive, and early reading skills to prevent reading difficulties and ensure school success.
- Education for Homeless Children and Youths - Grants for State and Local Activities: The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act is a formula grant program that supports State-wide efforts to ensure homeless children have access to public education.
- Enhanced Assessment Grants
- Even Start Family Literacy Programs: Title I, Part B, Subpart 3 funds a variety of Even Start programs that demonstrate how family literacy can be a powerful tool for improving student achievement.
- Improving Basic Programs Operated by Local Educational Agencies (Title I, Part A): Title I, Part A funds schoolwide programs and targeted assistance programs designed to improve the academic achievement of students who are farthest from meeting the State's challenging academic standards, including students with disabilities, students with limited English proficiency, students experiencing homelessness, and children of migratory workers.
- Neglected and Delinquent State Agency and Local Educational Agency Program (Title I, Part D): Title I, Part D funds assistance for children who are neglected, delinquent, or at risk of dropping out of school.
