Museu Nacional de Historia da Medicina, "Maximiano de Lemos", Faculdade de Medicina do Porto   Faculdade de Medicina do Porto, Alameda Prof. Hernani Monteiro. 4200 Porto, Portugal + 351 2 55 06 884   Amelia Ricon-Ferraz, Director         Collections Museu Nacional de Historia da Medicina "Maximiano de Lemos", 18th century to present day       This museum was created by Prof. Luis de Pina in 1933 and it belongs to the Faculty of Medicine of Oporto - Portugal.   The museum holds a very large collection of surgical instruments since the 18th century, academical praxis, Art Collection of important national painters and sculptors, medical and surgical clothing from the last century; medical apparatus and instruments particularly from the 19th century.       The museum library contains a collection of ten thousand books and magazines including encyclopedia, biographies, journals and old books related to the history of medicine.
