WHFC Visitors
On May 17th, Scott Tilley (Reston) and Pat Mullan (St. Pete) visited Woods Hole to discuss a variety of administrative issues with the administrative staff and to participate in planning for the transition to a new Administrative Officer in Woods Hole at the end of September. Don Pryor, the recently appointed NOAA-USGS liaison, visited WHFC on April 27th to learn about the research and collaborative activities going on in Woods Hole. He spent his afternoon talking with Debbie Hutchinson, Brad Barr, Brad Butman, Bill Schwab, and Kathy Scanlon. Randy Updike (TCS, Central Earthquake Hazards Team) visited Debbie Hutchinson and Uri ten Brink at the WHFC on May 1st to tour the research facilities and participate in a roundtable discussion with WHOI scientists. The discussion focused on the kinds of earthquake and seismology research currently underway in the Woods Hole community. His visit came close to a record, less than two hours, for amount of ground covered and topics discussed for visitors in recent memory!
