Research Project: ENHANCEMENT OF FUSARIUM HEAD BLIGHT RESISTANCE IN THE SOUTHEASTERN U.S. GERMPLASM POOL Project Number: 0500-00053-002-28
Project Type: Grant

Start Date: Jun 16, 2004
End Date: Jun 15, 2009

Objective:
Develop control measures that minimize the threat of Fusarium head blight. Develop varieties of soft red winter wheat with enhanced FHB resistance for the southeastern U.S.

Approach:
Find potentially novel sources of FHB resistance in selected A and D genome diploid wheat relatives and in winter type accessions of the Sando intergeneric hybrid germplasm collection. Coordinate the 2004-2005 Uniform Southern Soft Red Winter Wheat Fusarium Head Blight Nursery. FY06 Titles: 1.
