Research Project: AERIAL AND GROUND SPRAY APPLICATION TECHNOLOGY FOR ENHANCED FUNGICIDE EFFICACY FOR CONTROL OF FHB Project Number: 0500-00053-001-85
Project Type: Grant

Start Date: May 01, 2003
End Date: Apr 30, 2008

Objective:
Evaluate performance of aerial applied fungicide. Enhance the efficacy of fungicide by application technology.

Approach:
Assess airplane spray pattern and droplet size, fungicide deposition coverage on the hard red spring wheat spike, and the efficacy of fungicide for the control of FHB by visual estimation of incidence and severity of the disease. Leaf disease necrosis will also be determined. Determine if spray orifice orientation to the grain spike, spray carrier volume, and spraying system will enhance the efficacy of fungicide for the control of FHB.
