Abstract Baxter delivers critical therapies for life-threatening conditions related to the blood and circulatory system. This includes: products that collect, separate and store blood, as well as therapeutic proteins derived from blood; renal products that cleanse the blood; and intravenous (IV) products that infuse drugs and other solutions into the blood. Baxter is well known for providing a range of renal dialysis products and services to support people with kidney failure. Biographical Note This collection currently resides with the Global Education facility and training program in Largo, Florida. This facility, under the direction of John Sweeny, displays these objects in a museum area approximately 1,000 square feet in size.
 
Collection Description This collection includes thirty to forty dialyzers, twenty machines, mugs (and other ephemeral materials), equipment manuals, photos, among other historical materials. There is an attractive timeline presented to visitors on the wall of the museum. There also exists a 29-minute tape on the history of dialysis, entitled "Genesis of the Artificial Kidney."
